Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions in Woollahra

We do our best to offer appointments as quickly as possible. In most cases, we can book you in within a week or two, depending on the type of referral and how much time is needed for your consultation. If your case is urgent or time-sensitive, please let us know—our team will always try to accommodate you efficiently.

Our consultations are designed to be comprehensive yet time-efficient. A standard consultation typically lasts around 30 minutes and includes any necessary imaging, a detailed medical history review, and an initial discussion with one of our experienced nurses, followed by approximately 20 minutes with the surgeon. For more complex cases, extended consultations of up to 45 minutes are available and attract a higher fee. Dr Leinkram, Dr Parthasarathi, and Dr Tim Manzie are each available one day per week for consultations, as they dedicate the remainder of their time to operating at our day surgery facility or at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, a specialist oncology hospital.

Absolutely! We encourage you to explore our online Before and After Gallery to see examples of our work. During your consultation, we can also show you additional case photos from our in-practice portfolio—these include patients who have kindly given consent for their images to be shared privately but not online. This allows us to show you examples that are more closely matched to your individual case.

You may be eligible to claim a rebate for your surgery and hospital fees through your health insurance provider. At your consultation, we'll provide you with an itemised fee estimate for your procedure. If your treatment involves a hospital stay or general anaesthetic, we'll also provide a schedule of fees and let you know how to contact the hospital and anaesthetist directly for their fees and rebate information. While it's ultimately your responsibility to confirm your level of cover, we'll do everything we can to ensure you have the information you need for fully informed financial consent.

For most standard procedures, such as wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, and other oral surgery, your first post-operative visit is usually scheduled 7-14 days after your procedure with one of our practice nurses. In many cases, only one follow-up appointment is needed. Sometimes, a phone review may be appropriate instead of an in-person visit. For more complex procedures, your surgeon will review you more closely, often weekly at first, and then gradually space out your visits depending on how your recovery is going.

Dr Leinkram, Dr Parthasarathi, and Dr Manzie are highly qualified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Each of them has completed both a dental and a medical degree, followed by specialist training to achieve their FRACDS(OMS) qualification, a prestigious accreditation recognised in Australia, New Zealand, and internationally. They are fully registered in Australia as dentists, medical practitioners, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and have also undertaken post-fellowship training with international experience in their respective fields.
